Hudson Carpentry and Joinery is a small carpentry, joinery and general building firm based on the Essex/Suffolk border, mainly covering London, Essex and Suffolk although we have had a few projects further afield. Our work varies from simple putting up shelves or changing a lock to complete home renovations and extensions and nationwide contracts for major companies. We also undertake commercial and insurance work. We specialise in both modern and traditional woodworking, from roof framing to kitchen fitting. We are also experienced in general building work. As well as more general carpentry, we also offer a bespoke fine joinery service, ranging from that unique table you have always dreamt of to custom musical instruments. Where possible we try to use locally sourced, recycled or sustainable materials. Even timber offcuts are used for firewood so nothing goes to waste. This year saw the launch of our mobile timber milling service, enabling us to source specific timber for you, our customer. From the initial consultation with Steve Friend the owner who project manages the scheme and working with his architect we were able to create an outline of what I had been thinking about for months. Then along came Jim, John and James (the three J’s) who made the outline a reality! No small detail was ignored, and from start to finish they all exhibited such a high level of professionalism and consideration for our home. Unfortunately for them we were in lockdown and they had to cope with a one year old, a five year old, a ball crazy dog and myself and my husband. I could not find any fault. They did everything in their power to ensure we had appliances for the duration of the work and I appreciate at times this must have been inconvenient for them- but they never let us know.
